About Mani Depre

Manic. Depressive. Still here.

The name says it out loud on purpose.

Why the name?

Mani Depre is short for manic depressive, the original name for what doctors now call bipolar disorder. We kept the old name because saying something plainly takes away a little of its power. This site exists to trade shame for understanding, and silence for conversation.

[Add your personal story here: when you or someone you love was diagnosed, what the early days felt like, what helped, and why you started Mani Depre.]

Why a wheel?

Learning the ride

The wheel in our logo is the ride itself: up into color and speed, down into gray, and around again. The goal isn't to never move. It's to know the ride, soften the drops, and spend more time enjoying the view from the steady middle.

Honest

No sugar-coating and no scare tactics. Real experiences, real information, in plain language.

Hopeful

Recovery and stability are real. People with bipolar build careers, families, art, and joy every day.

Human

People first, diagnosis second. Everyone here is welcome, whether you live with bipolar or love someone who does.
